California private postsecondary school owners may be interested to know that the BPPE is up for “sunset review” by the State Legislature this year. Should the Legislature fail to reauthorize the BPPE, the agency would be required to disband, as happened in 2007. The review process is likely to result in some changes to The Education Act of 2009 that may have a significant impact on stakeholders. It is strongly recommended that private postsecondary school owners monitor the sunset review carefully: Let your voice be heard and don’t be left out of the decision-making process.
