New BPPE Regulations (California SB 1192) Go into Effect in 2017
BPPE Bureau Chief Joanne Wenzel has posted a reminder on the BPPE website (http://www.bppe.ca.gov/) to stakeholders that extensive new regulations governing California private postsecondary educational institutions go into effect in 2017. Among the changes are the requirement that out-of-state institutions that enroll California students become “registered,” new STRF calculations and Annual Fee structures, and the raising of the raising of the citation for unlicensed activity (operating without approval from the Bureau) from $50,000.00 to up to $100,000.00. California school owners and those planning to open a school in the state are strongly advised to review the new regulations carefully.
